Jean Yang
Meet the artist
Growing up in a family surrounded by arts and music in Taiwan, Jean had developed a great appreciation of a Master work in her early childhood. She always draw her inner self on a piece of paper when she felt most vulnerable to express to others.

Immigrated to the States in her early 20's to pursue the Master Degree, Jean started her Engineering career in Chicago afterwards.
She acquired her understanding of painting basics through attending work shops, demos and studied videos with many outstanding artists. She has travelled across the U.S. and overseas for plein aire paintings to better engage with the surroundings and to record the moment of beauty. ​

She believes mastering the essential elements of art making - line, color and composition is important for creating a masterpiece. All her paintings either studio or plein aire, she would make several charcoal/pencil and color sketches to make sure lines, colors and composition are harmonious before the final creation.

Jean is a long-time member of Pallet and Chisel Club where she is blessed to have opportunities to paint professional models and be able to paint with a lot other wonderful artists. She is also a member of the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America.

She had become a full-time painter since 2019 and her paintings were accepted many times into American Impressionist Society competitions. Her paintings started being collected throughout the States.
